So to make up the fact I didn't actually post anything I drew last night, I upload this! Yes, I'm a sucker for Zutara. I think they're cute. :flirty: But it wasn't the main reason why I drew this. I got a note recently from ~wondering-wandering requesting I draw a scene from this fanfic: [link]

So I viewed this as an opportunity to brush up on my skills again. Not bad results methinks.

Just so you know, I almost NEVER read fanfics, so I relied on her description of the scene to draw the image. And also because I don't read fanfics, I neither promote it nor dissuade you from reading it. That's all I wanted to say in regard to the fanfic, so if you come to me talking about it, I will have no idea what you're saying. ^^;

In any case, in this scene according to what I gathered, Zuko's lying unconscious in public in enemy territory. Despite her own disapproval of the exiled prince, Katara pushes through the crowds to come to his aid. D'awww. :aww:

I was also informed that Katara wasn't wearing her usual water tribe clothing, but some blue gown. I tried to find information in the fanfic about the gown's details, but to no avail, so if you're wondering, that gown is of my own design. :O Gotta love frills. :D

I like the way you illustrated Zuko's face, he's still so serious when unconscious. That's Zuko! XD

Katara's body looks really nice as well, I'm honestly not saying that just because of the cleavage! Her hands and arms are in proportion and the shading is really well executed. However her face seems slightly off. To me, her eyes are a smidgen too big. Although I understand that her eyes are really big in the show as well. It may be that her chin is a little weak in proportion.

In the end, I'm not sure if you're looking to change things around anymore. However the piece as a whole is really nice and the concept is very cute.

Well, first of all. Hi again. XD; Hope things are well with you! And secondly, thank you for being the first to comment and not to just favorite idly. :D

I was waiting for someone to say something. Anything really.

But yeah. I know exactly what you mean about Katara's face. It's mostly because her ear is too far away from the rest of her face proportionately. The chin just adds to it. I knew this from the start, but since I told myself this wasn't going to be a serious drawing, I didn't bother with fixing it too much. I was more interested in the shading style I could accomplish here without the use (or minimal use) of the shading/blurring tool. I must say, I like the results. A tad more tedious, but it has a nice effect methinks.

As for the eyes, I suppose part of my reasoning was that I drew male faces too effeminate, so I tried to counteract this with bigger/more expressive eyes in the females I drew. x_X; Maybe I need to start drawing guys like how they do in American comic books. Hmm...

Glad I got Zuko's personality across though... even while unconscious. XD; I was actually aiming more for a peaceful look, but this works just as well.

Say it out loud! I'm a Zutarian and proud!

I love it. It kind of reminds me of the scene at the end of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which is very cool. I might just have to read this fanfiction. :heart:
